root of many fleshy fibres; corm ampullæform, with brown, membranous tunics; leaves 4–6, linear, moderately firm in texture, 4–6 in. long, 1/2–1 line broad; peduncle slender, terete, 1/2–1 ft. long; umbel 2–6-flowered; spathe-valves green, lanceolate; pedicels 1/4–1 in. long; perianth 1/3 in. long; tube oblong, greenish; segments lanceolate, nearly as long as the tube; corona annular, dark purple, 1/8 in. long, crenate at the margin; upper stamens reaching to the throat of the corona. null
