Information
Aromatic shrub, up to 2 m high; stems glabrous to tomentose. Leaves green to grey on both sides or whitish beneath, glabrous to pubescent or finely tomentose on both surfaces; petiole 2–16(–42) mm long, puberulous; blade ovate to broadly elliptic or orbicular, 0.4–3(–4) x 0.4–2.8 cm, rounded to subacute at the apex, ± rounded at the base, sometimes lobed, with crenate margin. Inflorescences leaf-opposed, solitary, or merging into a terminal panicle, with leafy bracts in basal part only; peduncle 1–6 mm long; pedicels 2–7(–12) mm long. Sepals elliptic, 7–13 mm long, with a 0.7–2 mm long apical horn. Petals ± linear, 6–9 x 1–2 mm. Stamens 25–40. Fruit globose; body 3–4 mm in diam., glabrous to pilose; bristles (6–)8–15 mm long, thin and flexible, pilose, terminated by single or several straight setae.
