Notes
Two segregates are commonly recognized, L. camerunensis from Cameroun and L. stipoides from Madagascar. Variation in East Africa readily engulfs both species, which seem to be no more than extreme forms. None of the other segregates appear to be of any biological significance, and I have therefore treated L. simplex as a single variable species.
