Notes
Some doubt and confusion in the synonymy of T. juncifolium are occasioned by the fact that under the number Drège, 8167a, there are two different plants in different herbaria, though they are not always intermixed. In the Boissier Herbarium, 8167a is the type of T. dregeanum, A.DC., a form of T. virgatum, Lam., but at Kew and Stockholm two different plants are mounted on the same sheet, one of which is T. juncifolium, and the other is the same plant as the type of T. dregeanum, represented at Berlin by Drège, 8167b. Rhinostegia brevifolia was founded on Drège, 8167, and it is therefore doubtful whether it should be wholly referred to T. juncifolium or to T. virgatum.
