Creeper or liane up to 20(–30) m. Leaves pinnate 3–5-foliolate, leaflets ovate to oblong-lanceolate, 3–13≈1.5–7 cm, entire or notched at apex. Flowers 6–20 in condensed pendulous clusters borne on the old wood; calyx green, tinged red or purple, 1.2–4 cm long; corolla with tube pale to deep pink, narrowly funnel-shaped, 7–11 cm long including lobes 0.7–1.5≈1–2 cm. Fruit linear, woody, 17–30≈3–3.7 cm; seeds 2.5–3.5≈1.2–1.5 cm. Fig. 4.5–4.8, p. 20.
