Information
leaves numerous, arranged in a dense rosette, ensiform or linear-oblong, acuminate, undulate at the margin, the outer spreading, the inner suberect, all recurved at the apex, uniformly light green, 3–7 in. long, 1/3–1 in. broad; scapes erect, often stout, 3/4–1 3/4 ft. high, with numerous linear-lanceolate somewhat recurved sheaths; racemes 4–10 in. long, many-flowered; bracts lanceolate, acuminate, 1/4– 1/2 in. long; pedicels 1/3– 3/4 in. long; flowers light purple with a few minute darker dots on the lip, occasionally white; sepals broadly ovate, subobtuse, 1/4 in. long; petals ovate, subacute, erose or minutely denticulate, smaller than the sepals; lip linear-oblong, 1/3– 1/2 in. long, 5-fid or 5-partite; column short and broad. null

EASTERN REGION Zululand; Eshowe, Mrs. K. Saunders, 2! near Ungoya, 1000–2000 ft., Wood, 5650! and in MacOwan & Bolus, Herb. Norm. Austr.-Afr., 1024!
