stem short; branches tufted, woody; leaves congested, rigid, linear-subulate, almost pungent, flat above, convex beneath, 6 lin. long; scape about 1 in. long, paniculately branched; spikelets 2-flowered; outer bract very short, inner 2 lin. long, both coriaceous with scarious margins; calyx narrowly funnel-shaped, 3 lin. long, 5-ribbed; lobes short, triangular; petals oblanceolate, obtuse, 4 lin. long; anthers oval; ovary obovoid; style filiform. null
