Information
Inflorescence-rhachis mostly very short, 1–2 cm. long. Calyx 1–1.5 cm. long, very densely covered with long bristly yellow hairs up to 2.5 mm. long and usually with a silvery pubescence of finer hairs longer than those in the other two varieties.

A scrap on a sheet from the “Mts. E. of L. Nyasa” collected by Johnson may be from T8 or from N. Mozambique. No fewer than four species are represented on this sheet, the others being K. princeana (Harms) Verdc., K. recurvifolia (Taub.) F. White and K. strigosa (Benth.) Dewit & Duvign., all collected before 1884.
