Notes
Greenway & Polhill 11680 (Tanganyika, 43.2 km. S. of Itigi Station on the Chunya road) is atypical in its short habit (5–7 cm. tall), almost glabrous stems and leaves and shorter less lanceolate bracteoles. It exactly corresponds with Smithia burttii and further work may indicate varietal status for this variant.
