Information
Perennial woody herb or weak-stemmed shrub 45–200 cm high, viscid; stems erect, branched, glandular-setose. Leaves sessile, broadly oblong, oblong or elliptic-oblong, 3.2–9 cm long, 0.8–3 cm wide, base auriculate with toothed auricles and semi-amplexicaul, pinnately lobulate with acute to rounded entire or few-denticulate or apiculate-lobulate lobes, apex obtuse, minutely apiculate, viscid, glandular-pubescent, sometimes also sparsely arachnoid beneath, crowded at the ends of the branches, weakly marcescent when old. Capitula radiate, erect, 3–20 in lax to dense terminal corymbs; stalks of the individual capitula glandular-hairy, slightly expanded below the capitula; involucre 8–10 mm long, 4.5–6 mm in diameter; bracts of calyculus 5–9, lax, narrowly lanceolate, 2.5–5.5 mm long, glandular; phyllaries 16–21, 7.5–10 mm long, glandular, dark-tipped. Ray florets 17–23, yellow, tube 3.5–4 mm long, hairy, rays 10–17 mm long, 2.5–3 mm wide, 4-veined; disc florets yellow, corolla 6–6.5 mm long, tube expanded above the middle, glabrous, lobes 0.7 mm long. Achenes 3–4 mm long, ribbed, glabrous; pappus 6.5–7 mm long.
