Information
Erect or rather diffuse nearly glabrous herb up to c. 60 cm. tall, with stems repeatedly branched. Leaves fleshy, alternate, subopposite or fasciculate, petiolate; laminas 8–45 × 2–8 mm., linear, linear-lanceolate or lanceolate, subacute at apex and cuneate at base; petiole up to 5 mm. long. Inflorescence terminal, a pedunculate, pseudoumbellate few-many-flowered cyme with acute whitish membranous bracts. Flowers greenish-white, very shortly pedicellate, with acute whitish membranous bracteoles. Perianth-segments 5, up to 2–5 mm. long, unequal, membranous, ovate or broadly ovate, slightly mucronate, whitish with greenish keel. Staminodes 0–5, evanescent, long-clawed with oblong limb, more or less equalling perianth-segments. Stamens generally 7. Ovary compressed. Mericarps up to 13 mm. in diameter, compressed-orbicular, brownish, opaque, puberulous, with basal sinus and prominently pitted and furrowed centre surrounded by a radiately-nerved membranous wing up to 5 mm. broad.
