perennial, much branched, 1–1 1/2 ft. high; branches minutely puberulous; leaves more or less fascicled, sometimes crowded, linear, subacute, minutely puberulous, 3–8 lin. long; heads roundish, small, numerous, and arranged in a narrow more or less compact panicle towards the summit of the branches; bracts lanceolate or oblong, subobtuse, 1 lin. long; calyx 3/4 lin. long; lobes oblong, obtuse, strongly ciliate; corolla blue (Galpin); tube oblong, 1 lin. long; lobes broadly oblong, unequal, more than half as long as the tube. null
