Information
Path of main stem mostly not clear through to apex. Leaves thinner in texture, less scarious at margins and only slightly ciliate, the lateral ones ovate-lanceolate, the median ones ovate-elliptic with long slightly keeled seta; ratio of the length of lateral leaves to that of median leaves 4:5.

If stolons are missing, which they are in some herbarium specimens, it is easy to confuse with S. molliceps (see on p. 22); careful comparisons of descriptions in the literature reveals few differences but none of the experts on the genus mention any relationship.
