plant 1–2 1/2 ft. high; stems stout; leaves 3 or 4, suberect, oblong-lanceolate, acute, 3–6 in. long, somewhat fleshy; scapes 1–2 1/2 ft. high, with several spathaceous sheaths; spikes 3–6 in. long, dense or somewhat lax, many-flowered; bracts ovate or ovate-lanceolate, acute, 1/2–1 in. long; pedicels about 1/2 in. long; sepals and petals united to nearly the middle; flowers medium-sized, white or pink; odd sepal oblong or linear-oblong, obtuse, 3 1/2–4 lin. long; lateral sepals longer and twice as broad as the odd sepal, somewhat spreading; petals linear-oblong, obtuse, about as long as the odd sepal; lip cucullate, obovate-elliptic, 4–4 1/2 lin. long, with a narrow apiculate reflexed apex; spurs slender, curved, 10–12 lin. long; column curved, about 3 1/2 lin. long; stigma broadly suborbicular, 3/4 lin. long, broader than long; rostellum triangular-oblong, subacute, as long as the stigma. null
