plant 4–6 in. high; stem moderately stout; leaves several, the 2 lower ovate or elliptic-ovate, subobtuse, spreading, 1–1 3/4 in. long, the upper narrowly ovate, suberect, subacute, decreasing upwards into the bracts; scapes 4–6 in. high; spikes 1–2 1/2 in. long, somewhat lax, few- to many-flowered; bracts ovate, acute, 3–5 lin. long, reflexed after flowering; pedicels 1 1/2 lin. long; flowers small; sepals and petals united to the middle, each with a slender nerve; odd sepal ovate-oblong, obtuse, 1 lin. long; lateral sepals falcate-oblong, obtuse, longer than the odd sepal; petals oblong, obtuse, 1 lin. long; lip galeate, broadly ovate, 2 lin. long, with 7 somewhat prominent nerves, apex and margin incurved, papillate, nerves papillate; spurs broadly saccate, very short; column curved, 1 1/2 lin. long; stigma obovate-oblong, obtuse, 1/2 lin. long; rostellum 3-dentate in front, rather shorter than the stigma. null
