plant 3/4–1 1/2 ft. high; stems stout; leaves 2, radical, sessile, spreading, cordate-orbicular or cordate-ovate, subobtuse, ciliate, 2–3 1/2 in. long, 1 1/4–3 in. broad, fleshy; scapes 3/4–1 1/2 ft. high, with several broad tubular or spathaceous bracts; spikes 2–4 in. long, somewhat lax, many-flowered; bracts ovate-oblong or elliptic, acute or subobtuse, 1/2– 3/4 in. long, reflexed after flowering; pedicels about 1/3 in. long; flowers dull ochre-yellow, scented; odd sepal oblong, obtuse, 2 1/2 lin. long, reflexed; lateral sepals rather larger and spreading; petals oblong, obtuse, about as large as the odd sepal, spreading; lip galeate, broadly ovate, obtuse, 3 1/2 lin. long, basal third united to the margin of the lateral sepals; spurs cylindrical, slender and somewhat curved, 7–9 lin. long; column curved, 2 1/2 lin. long; stigma oblong, obtuse, 1 1/2 lin. long; rostellum oblong, with a short tooth in front, deflexed, much shorter than the stigma. null
