plant 1–2 ft. high; stems stout; leaves cauline, 2–4, suberect, oblong or linear-oblong, acute or subacute, 3–6 in. long, 3/4–1 1/4 in. broad, somewhat fleshy; scapes 1–2 ft. high, with two or three narrow sheaths above; spikes 1–4 in. long, very dense, many-flowered; bracts lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, acute or acuminate, 1/3–1 in. long; pedicels 1–2 lin. long; flowers very small, white or white and yellow; sepals and petals united to the middle; odd sepal oblong, obtuse, 1 1/2–2 lin. long; lateral sepals longer and broader than the odd sepal, somewhat spreading; petals oblong, obtuse, 1 1/2–2 lin. long; lip cucullate, ovoid-globose, 2–2 1/2 lin. long, subobtuse, not or scarcely reflexed at the apex; spurs rather stout, somewhat curved, 1 1/4–2 lin. long; column curved, 1 1/2–2 lin. long; stigma broadly rhomboid-ovate, 3/4 lin. long, broader than long; rostellum rhomboid-oblong, minutely 3-lobed at the apex, scarcely half as long as the stigma. null
