Information
Plant without aerial stem. Leaves 2–3(–4), ± erect, rigid, up to at least 60 x 7.5 cm, sometimes rough with transverse ridges on both sides or below only, flat, lanceolate, with a hard brown spine-like tip, tapering below into a petiole-like base, often variegated; margins with hardened reddish-brown edges. Inflorescence a spike-like raceme, up to 75 cm or more high including peduncle; flowers 4–5 in a cluster, whitish; pedicels 3–8 mm long, articulated at the middle or near the top. Free parts of tepals c. 10 mm long, linear, obtuse; tube c. 15 mm long.
