SANSEVIERIA eilensis Chahin. [family DRACAENACEAE], (1995);. type: N3, Eyl Pass, 4 km NNW of Eyl, Lavranos & Horwood 10178 (MO holo., UPS iso.).
Information
Plant without aerial stem. Leaves from underground rhizome, 2–3, ascending, 7–12 x 1.9–2.5 cm, slightly rough, cylindric, with up to 12 longitudinal lines or grooves and often with a channel all along above, ± curved and abruptly tapering to a cuspidate hard tip, light green with grey-green cross-banding; margins of channel red-brown with a white edge. Spike-like raceme c. 34 cm high including peduncle; flowers 2–4 in a cluster, greenish-white; pedicels 4–5 mm long, articulated above the middle. Free parts of tepals c. 14 mm long, linear, reflexed; tube c. 8 mm long.
