Description
A robust herbaceous climber, of semi-deciduous forest and secondary scrub, with brilliantly scarlet conspicuous fruit when ripe, recorded from Liberia to S Nigeria and Fernando Po, and occurring also in Cameroun, Gabon and Rio Muni.A decoction of the plant is used in Ivory Coast to relieve stomach-ache, scrotal elephantiasis and jaundice (1).
