an erect robust herb 2–4 ft. high; radical leaves 5–9 in. long, acute, acute to cordate at the base, undulate; cauline leaves lanceolate, the upper almost linear, all petioled; panicles terminal, leafless or with 1–2 leaves in the lower part; whorls approximate, many-flowered; pedicels slender, jointed near the base; inner perianth-segments sub-orbicular, entire, about 2 lin. in diam., sometimes wider than long, strongly reticulate, all with a large wart on the back. null
