Information
Annual or short-lived perennial, with erect pilose stem to 10–30 cm tall and often longer spreading to weakly ascending lower branches, sometimes perennating with extra basal branches but taproot undivided. Leaves mostly 3-foliolate, but uppermost mixed with 1-foliolate; leaflets mostly 15–25 × 4–10 mm, narrowly elliptic-oblanceolate to oblanceolate, obtuse to rounded to the apiculate tip, pilose on both surfaces; stipules 3–7 mm long, linear to linear-lanceolate. Flowers 2–9 in heads towards the tips of shoots, subsessile; bracts 2–3.5 mm long. Calyx 4–5 mm long, pilose; lobes 2.5–3 mm long, narrowly triangular. Standard pale yellow, a little shorter than the calyx and ± the same length as the wings and keel, spathulate, with a few hairs along the midvein outside. Pods 6–10 × 3–4.5 mm, ovate-oblong, tapered to the persistent forwardly directed style, densely pilose, 4–8-seeded. Seeds 1.2–1.5 mm long, cream-coloured to brown, slightly sculptured.
