Shrub or (rarely) a small tree up to 7·5 m. tall, unarmed, glabrous in all parts; branchlets greyish or brown, angular. Petiole 0·5–1·2(3) cm. long, canaliculate and winged above. Leaflets glaucous or greyish (in dry state somewhat brownish on the under surface), papyraceous or subcoriaceous, the median one 1·5–2(5) × 1–1·2(3) cm., obcordate-cuneate to broadly obovate-cuneate, emarginate at the apex, the lateral ones obovate or obcordate, c. 2/3 as long as the median one or sometimes smaller, all somewhat undulate between the lateral nerves; midrib and the slender lateral nerves prominulous on both surfaces; venation not visible. Panicles terminal and axillary, many-flowered, the terminal ones longer than the leaves; pedicels 1–2 mm. long; bracts ovate or lanceolate. Female flowers: calyx-segments 0·5 mm. long, ovate; petals 1–1·5 mm. long, oblong. Drupe reddish, shining, 5–6 mm. in diam., globose.
Habitat
Slopes of hills, sometimes near streams.
Distribution
Botswana SE Gaberones, Mokhoro valley, Baratani Hill, st. xii.1947, Miller B/561 (PRE); Kanye, Pharing, female fl. vii.1949, Miller B/908 (K; PRE).
Distribution (external)

Notes
If the information on the label be correct, it is doubtful whether Miller B/908 should be referred to R. glauca, because, according the monographs, this species is a shrub, not a tree. The leaves, however, in form, colour and venation, the petioles in length, glabrous-ness and possession of wings and the angular branchlets are characteristic of R. glauca.
