Information
Shrub up to 2·4 m. tall; branches cylindric, striate, covered with dark-greyish fissured bark, hispidulous to glabrescent; branchlets reddish, hispidulous and ferrugineous scrofulous-glandular, as also the petioles, panicles and calyx-segments. Petiole 0·5–2 cm. long, canaliculate and marginate or somewhat winged above towards the apex. Leaflets membranous becoming slightly rigid with age, the youngest pale-reddish, the others light-green, hispidulous mainly on the midrib and margins, ± densely-ferrugineous-scrofulous-glandular on both surfaces, entire; median leaflet 1·5–3·5 × 0·6–1·5 cm., obovate or oblanceolate, obtuse, cuneate and somewhat asymmetric at the base; midrib and the delicate lateral nerves prominent on both surfaces; venation raised on both surfaces in the oldest leaves. Panicles terminal and sub terminal, up to 9 cm. long, few-branched; pedicels 0·5–1·25 mm. long; bracts 1·5 mm. long. Male flowers: calyx-segments c. 0·5 mm. long, ovate, obtuse; petals 1 × 0·5 mm., oblong-obtuse.
Habitat
On termite mounds and in savanna-woodlands.

Known at present only from Bechuanaland Prot.
