Notes
Plants with ray florets have been called var. oligophylla Gamal-Eldin in Arabia. As rays may be present or absent also in Somalia, and without any associated characters, this should probably come into synonymy. Gillett & Hemming 24266 from S1, 89 km on Baidoa–Luuq road, is similar, but the heads are smaller (involucre c. 3 mm high), and the leaves are larger (to 30´12 mm). Kuchar s.n. from C2, 5 km E of Bugda Caqable, alt. 180 m, has even larger leaves (to 40´15 mm).
