Besides the above indigenous species, P. alata (Roxb.) R. Br. from tropical Asia has been collected (Maitland 445) at Victoria, British Cameroons; the references to the fruit in Milne-Redhead’s paper (Kew Bull. 1950: 348) are based on this specimen and not on P. macrocarpa K. Schum.
