plant 1/2–1 1/4 ft. high; stem rather stout, nearly straight; leaves 2 or 3, sessile and amplexicaul, ovate-oblong or cordate-oblong, subobtuse, the lower 3–4 in. long and subradical, upper much smaller and more erect; scapes 1/2–1 1/4 ft. high; spikes 2–4 in. long, somewhat dense, many-flowered; bracts ovate, acute, spreading or reflexed, 4–5 lin. long; pedicels 3–4 lin. long; flowers rather small, pale or sulphur-yellow; dorsal sepal lanceolate-oblong, obtuse, 3 lin. long; lateral sepals obliquely and broadly ovate, very obtuse, 3 lin. long; petals cohering with the dorsal sepal into a somewhat spreading limb, oblique, very broadly obovate, 3 1/2 lin. long; unequally bilobed at the apex, inner lobe oblong, obtuse, outer broadly rounded, undulate, with inflexed upper margin; lip broadly triangular-hastate or subtrilobed, very acute, 2 1/2 lin. long, with a spreading tooth-like fold on either side near the base; appendage erect, shortly unguiculate, obovate, denticulate or obtuse, concave, over 1 1/2 lin. long; column adnate to the lip; arms of the rostellum falcate-oblong, acute, adnate to the connective of the anther; stigmas small, placed on each side of the appendage of the lip. null
