plant 1/2–1 ft. high; stem somewhat flexuous, moderately slender; leaves 2, cauline, suberect or somewhat spreading, elliptic-oblong or lanceolate-oblong, apiculate, the lower 2 1/4–4 1/2 in. long, upper much smaller; scapes 1/2–1 ft. high; spikes 2–3 in. long, lax, 7–10-flowered; bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, 4–7 lin. long; pedicels 5–6 lin. long; flowers medium-sized, whitish, with green sepals; dorsal sepal elliptic-oblong, subobtuse, very concave, 3 1/2 lin. long; lateral sepals spreading, elliptic-ovate, acute, concave, 3 1/2 lin. long; petals cohering with the dorsal sepal into a somewhat expanded limb, obliquely quadrate-orbicular, apiculate at the inner angle, with an undulate crenulate outer margin, 3 1/2–4 lin. long; lip 3-lobed; side lobes auriculate; front lobe reflexed, oblong, obtuse, crenulate, 1 1/4 lin. long; appendage erect, 3-lobed, 2 1/4 lin. long, with two prominent diverging keels behind, front lobe broadly rhomboid, subobtuse, side lobes much smaller; column short; arms of the rostellum obovate, 1 lin. long; stigma widely separated. null
