plant 3/4–1 1/4 ft. high; stem moderately stout; leaves cauline, sessile, 2 or 3, oblong or linear-oblong, acute or subacute, 2–4 1/2 in. long; scapes 3/4–1 1/4 in. high; spikes 2–3 in. long, dense, many-flowered; bracts ovate or ovate-lanceolate, acute or acuminate, 6–8 lin. long; pedicels about 5 lin. long; flowers medium-sized; dorsal sepal elliptic-oblong, subobtuse, concave, 2 1/2–3 lin. long; lateral sepals spreading, obliquely ovate, obtuse, 2 1/2–3 lin. long, nearly as broad as long; petals cohering with the dorsal sepal into a somewhat expanded limb, oblique, obovate-orbicular, 2 1/2–3 lin. long, broader than long, unequally bilobed at the apex, upper lobe rather narrow, obtuse, lower lobe broadly rounded, subundulate; lip broadly unguiculate; limb broadly deltoid-triangular, apiculate or acute, concave, 1 1/4 lin. long, broader than long; appendage obovate-oblong, truncate, 1 1/4 lin. long; column short; arms of the rostellum diverging, obovate-oblong, obtuse, curved, over 1 lin. long. null
