Information
plant 1/2–1 ft. high; stem moderately stout, somewhat flexuous; leaves 2 or rarely 3, distant, sessile, sheathing at the base, somewhat spreading, oblong or elliptic-oblong, subobtuse or apiculate, the lower 2–5 in. long, upper much smaller; scapes 1/2–1 ft. high; spikes 1–2 in. long, loosely 3–8-flowered; bracts ovate-lanceolate, shortly acuminate, 5–7 lin. long; pedicels 4–5 lin. long; flowers large, pale sulphur-yellow, rarely with orange-red petals and lip; dorsal sepal ovate-lanceolate, subobtuse, subconcave, subacute, with a distinct rounded sac near the apex, 5 lin. long; lateral sepals widely spreading, obliquely ovate, shortly acuminate and curved at the apex, subsaccate at the base, 5 lin. long; petals cohering with the dorsal sepal into an expanded limb, very oblique, broadly elliptic-oblong, subacute at the inner angle, broadly auriculate at the base, with a crenulate outer margin, 5–6 lin. long; lip broadly rhomboid-orbicular, subobtuse, very undulate, reflexed, 2 lin. long; appendage ovate-oblong, obscurely 3-lobed about the middle, obtuse, recurved at the apex, base broad, upper half narrow and crenulate, 4 lin. long; column short; arms of the rostellum auriculate, concave, 1 1/2 lin. long. null
