Information
Tree 15 m. or more high; branchlets greyish white, lightly pubescent. Leaves subopposite, somewhat glutinous when young; lamina elliptic, up to 7 cm. long and 3.5 cm. wide, apex obtuse or acuminate, base rounded, sericeous pilose, becoming glabrescent except for the pubescent midrib; lateral nerves 7–9 pairs; petiole ± 3 mm. long, pubescent. Inflorescences of axillary subcapitate racemes up to 2 cm. long. Flowers white or cream, 4- or sometimes 5-merous within the same inflorescence and irrespective of whether hermaphrodite or ♂; ♂ flowers similar to the hermaphrodite, but style shorter and tending to be near the base of the inflorescence. Lower receptacle ± 7 mm. long, shortly pilose; upper receptacle shallowly campanulate, 2.5–3 mm. long, shortly pilose at the base. Sepals deltate, 1.5 mm. long. Petals obcordate to inversely reniform, 1.2 mm. long, 1–1.8 mm. wide, glabrous. Stamens 2-seriate; antipetalous filaments 6 mm. long, antisepalous ones 5 mm. long; anthers 0.7 mm. long. Disk 2.5–3 mm. in diameter, pilose with short free margin. Style ± 4 mm. long. Fruit 4-winged, subcircular in outline, 1.2 cm. long and wide, deeply emarginate, base rounded, glabrous; apical peg absent; stipe 7 mm. long, slender, pubescent.
