Information
Plant 9–12 in. high. Stems cylindric, 3–5-leaved. Leaves oblong, minutely bidenticulate, 2 1/2–4 in. long, 6–9 lin. broad. Panicles nearly sessile, 1 1/2–2 1/2 in. long. Bracts triangular-ovate, acute, 1 1/2–2 lin. long. Pedicels 4 lin. long. Dorsal sepal triangular-ovate, acute, 3 lin. long; lateral broadly triangular; apex falcate-acuminate. Petals subspathulate-lanceolate, acute, 2 1/2 lin. long. Lip 3 lin. long, unguiculate, subtrilobed; side lobes broadly rounded; front lobe triangular, acute; disc puberulous with a central, roundish-oblong tubercle. Column stout, 1/2 lin. long. Chin saccate-oblong, obtuse, 2 1/4 lin. long.

German East Africa Mozamb. Dist. Usambara; Mascheua, 6200 ft., on trees, Holst, 8748!
Notes
Very different from P. shirensis, Reichb. f., to which Kränzlin refers it. It turns black in drying, and is near P. Rendlei, Rolfe, and P. imbricata, Rolfe.
