Information
rhizome stout and woody; pseudobulbs approximate, ovate or thickened at the base, narrowed above, 1–1 1/2 in. long, with several broad imbricate sheaths, 2–3-leaved; leaves elliptic-oblong to linear-oblong, subobtuse, often somewhat recurved at the apex, coriaceous, 1 1/2–6 in. long, 1/3– 3/4 in. broad; scapes erect, with a few lanceolate acuminate sheaths below, 3–8 in. high, puberulous or pubescent; racemes usually elongated and many-flowered; bracts triangular-ovate to triangular-lanceolate, very acuminate, 1/6– 1/4 in. long, concave at the base, often recurved; pedicels about 1/3 in. long; flowers medium sized, deep yellow with some brown stripes on the lateral sepals and lip; sepals ovate or ovate-oblong, acute, spreading, lateral about 1/3 in. long, dorsal rather shorter and narrower; petals spathulate-oblong, obtuse, rather shorter than the dorsal sepal; lip 3-lobed, rather shorter than the petals; front lobe ovate, subacute; side lobes usually smaller and more obtuse; disc pubescent or villous; column very short and broad. null
