POLYSTACHYA farinosa Kränzl. [family ORCHIDACEAE], in Engl. Jahrb. xvii. 51.
Information
Plant 1–1 1/2 ft. high. Pseudobulbs cylindric, elongate, about 6–8-leaved. Leaves oblong, linear, bidentate, 3–5 in. long, 3–5 lin. wide. Racemes simple, many-flowered, 1 1/2–3 in. long. Bracts triangular, apiculate, 1/2– 3/4 lin. long. Pedicels 4 lin. long. Flowers white. Dorsal sepal ovate-oblong, obtuse, 1 1/2 lin. long; lateral very shortly and broadly triangular, obtuse or apiculate. Petals elliptic-oblong, obtuse, 1 1/2 lin. long. Lip 3 1/2 lin. long, trilobed; side lobes ovate-oblong, obtuse, small; front lobe conduplicate and deeply keeled behind, oblong, obtuse; disc densely pulverulous with an oblong keel above the base. Column stout, 1 lin. long. Chin oblong, obtuse, 3 lin. long.
