Information
Shrub or tree up to 10 m tall; bark brown peeling in long strips; young stems glabrous. Leaf-blades elliptic to lanceolate, 2–11.5(–19) x 1–4(–4.5) cm, ± acute at the apex, cuneate to subcordate at the base, sometimes with wavy margins, glabrous; petiole 5–9 mm long; stipules 2.5–4 mm long, triangular, keeled. Flowers in dense clusters, sweetly scented. Calyx 1.5(–2) mm long, glabrous to puberulous outside, truncate or with undulate margin. Corolla white; tube (2–)4 mm long, glabrous to puberulous outside; lobes ovate, 1.5–2 mm long. Fruit globose, 7–9 mm in diam., glabrous, dark, flecked with white. Seeds ± semiglobose, c. 6 mm long.
