Information
Stem stout, pubescent. Leaves lanceolate, acuminate, pubescent, the upper 3–4 in. long, the lower up to 1 ft. long; ochreæ densely ciliate with bristles. Spikes dense, cylindrical, 2–3 in. long, 2–4 to a stem; bracts ovate, usually ciliate. Perianth pink, not glandular, 1 lin. long; segments 4–5, ovate. Stamens included. Style bifid. Nut lenticular, black, glossy.
