Information
Annual herb up to 40 cm. tall with slender, wiry, glabrous stems. Leaves 5–8 x 0.5–1 mm., linear to lorate, glabrous, often scarcely developed, sometimes a little broader at the extreme base of the stem. Flowers small, white or pale greenish-yellow, pedicels 0.5–1 mm. long, in many-flowered terminal racemes up to 10 cm. long with glabrous rhachis and threadlike, caducous bracts 1–1.5 mm. long and bracteoles 0.8 mm. long. Posterior sepal 1 mm. long; wing sepals 2–2.5 x 1.3–1.5 mm., broadly elliptic to rotund, glabrous; anterior sepals 1 mm. long, free. Upper petals 1.3 x 0.8 mm., broadly elliptic; carina 1.5 x 0.8 mm. crest 0.6 mm. long. Stamens 8. Capsules 1 x 1 mm., suborbicular in outline, glabrous. Seeds 0.5–0.8 x 0.4–0.5 mm., ellipsoid, with white or brownish hairs; caruncle absent.
