stem woody, subscandent, striate; leaves entire, oblong or oblong-spathulate, obtuse or subacute, shortly mucronate, tapering downwards into a very short petiole, about 2 in. long and 3/4 in. wide, glabrous; spikes about 2 in. long; rhachis puberulous; bracteoles oblong, acute, half as long as the calyx; calyx 5 lin. long, pubescent, also bearing in the upper part glands on stalks nearly 1 lin. long; corolla pale blue; tube 1 1/4 in. long; limb 1 in. in diam.; lobes obovate, obtuse; anthers blue; capsule oblong-clavate, rounded above, tapering and pentagonal below. null
