Notes
This genus is still poorly known; more good specimens and field observations are much needed. Aubréville (l.c.) suggests that the Ivory Coast plant may be different from P. kerstingii. It is possible, however, that there is really only one species in the genus, with dimorphic flowers. The genus is also represented at Kew by the following sterile specimens which may belong to either species: — S.L.: Bo to Yele King 276! IV.C.: Dabou Chev. 16212! (cited as TrichoscyphamannioidesA. Chev. Bot. 161, name only). S.Nig.: Olokemeji Onochie & Jones FHI 14179! Illa Thomas 1916!
