Information
Much branched and shrubby below from a woody decumbent stock, 2 ft. high or more. Branches ascending terete leafy and hoary-tomentose above as well as the under-surfaces of the leaves and peduncles. Leaves linear, acute, sessile, subamplexicaul, entire or distantly dentate or denticulate, flat or with revolute margins, 1–3 in. long by 1/12– 1/4 in. wide. Capitula campanulate-hemispherical, many-flowered, 1/3– 1/2 in. diameter, solitary or loosely corymbose on long slender peduncles 1/2–5 in. long, terminal and from the upper axils. Scales of involucre multiseriate, imbricated, glabrous, or nearly so; inner linear, acuminate, caducous; outer obovate, rounded at apex, persistent. Achenes thinly hairy.
Range
Extends through Arabia and Persia to Affghanistan and Beloochistan.
