Names
PETALACTE canescens DC. [family COMPOSITAE], l. c. 267
Information
leaves obovate-oblong, thinnish, on both sides albo-tomentose, tipped with a brown mucro; outer inv. scales broad-based, loosely woolly, with brown, ovate, glabrous tips; inner with linear-oblong, white tips; pappus-bristles thickened towards the summit, serrulate. A straggling, or decumbent, slender suffrutex, much less robust and woolly than P. coronata. Leaves 1/2 inch long, 2–3 lines wide, flexible. Heads in a simple, few-headed corymb, subsessile. Outer inv. scales deep brown, inner with snow-white tips.
