Information
Stems erect, 0.1–1.2 m tall, usually several from a woody ± rhizomatous rootstock, often branching only towards the top, sparsely hairy to tomentose. Leaflets (0.8)1.5–5 × 0.1–1 cm, linear, oblanceolate or attenuately elliptic-oblong or obovate, apiculate, sparsely pilose to tomentellous or tomentose; petiole 0–1 cm long; stipules lacking. Flowers yellow, turning reddish-brown, sometimes few at branch-ends, sometimes in short to long, dense or lax racemes; bracts (2)4–7(10) mm long, obovate or subcircular; pedicels 1–2(3) mm long; bracteoles filiform to obovate or subcircular. Calyx 5–8 mm long, shortly appressed pubescent to tomentellous or coarsely tomentose; upper lip almost always shorter than the tube, with generally small upper and lateral lobes united to varying degrees. Standard 8–13(15) mm long, pubescent outside. Stamens all joined. Ovary 14–30-ovulate. Pod 1.5–2.5 × 0.4–0.5 cm, narrowly oblong-pointed. Seeds 2–2.5 mm across, oblique-cordiform.
