Flora
Entry for PAVETTA Natalensis Sond. [family RUBIACEAE]
quite glabrous; young branches compressed; leaves on longish petioles, lanceolate, acuminate, attenuate at the base, shining; stipules cuspidate-acuminate; corymb loose, peduncle naked at the base, pedicels 1-flowered; teeth of calyx three times as long as the tube, setaceous. Very different from the preceding. The leaves are 3–4 inches long, 7–10 lines broad, with subrecurved margins, much acuminated at the apex. The corymb or racemose panicle, in the only fruit-bearing specimen I have seen, is 1 inch high and 2 inches wide. Calyx-tube 1 line long. Fruit somewhat larger than in P. Caffra.
