Information
branches terete, as well as the leaves glabrous; leaves obovate, almost sessile; stipules broad, cuspidate; corymbs dense-flowered; teeth of calyx setaceous, twice longer than the tube. Shrub 3–6 feet high, with whitish branches. Leaves with slightly recurved margins, the lateral nerves often not conspicuous, quite glabrous, or in Var. β. pubescent, 1 1/2–2 inches long, about 1 inch broad, attenuated at the base, sometimes in a short petiole. Teeth of calyx 2 lines, tube of corolla 6 lines long. Fruit black, shining, as large as a pea crowned with the calyx.
