Information
Perennial up to 200 cm high; stems ascending and rooting from the lower nodes, often scrambling, sometimes almost woody. Inflorescence 8–18 cm long; racemes 2–7 cm long, with puberulous triquetrous rhachis, the spikelets paired or more often densely clustered on short secondary branchlets. Spikelets elliptic, 2.3–3.5 mm long, glabrous or occasionally thinly pubescent; lower glume a truncate or cuspidate cuff up to 0.5 mm long; upper glume acute; lower floret with a palea; upper lemma obscurely mucronate.
