Information
Trailing perennial, rooting at the lower nodes and forming a mat; culms 30–100 cm. high. Leaf-blades lanceolate, 5–20 cm. long, 8–25 mm. wide. Panicle diffuse, 8–22 cm. long, the branches glabrous or sparsely hirsute; terminal pedicels much longer than the spikelets, subangular, obscurely scaberulous. Spikelets 1.2–1.5 mm. long, not strongly gibbous, glabrous or puberulous at the tip; lower glume subacute to obtuse; upper lemma with a short obscure crest.

Notes
This species has been placed in Panicum, but resembles Cyrtococcum in its glumes and upper lemma (though the crest is small and difficult to see). In some respects it is intermediate between the two genera.
