PANDIAKA andongensis Hiern. [family AMARANTHACEAE], in Cat. Afr. Pl. Welw. i. 895.
Information
A hirsute erect herb, 20 in. high. Leaves opposite, sessile, 2 in. long, oblong-elliptic, base obscurely auricled. Spikes 1 1/2 by 1/2 in., white; bracteoles about 3/4 the length of the perianth, elliptic, acuminate, submucronate, hairy. Perianth 1/5 in. long; segments oblong-linear, with many white hairs on the back, glabrate at the points. Staminodes quadrate. Ovary glabrous.
