Information
Shrub or small tree; bark brown, peeling in long stripes; young stems glabrous or shortly pubescent. Leaf-blades oblong to ovate or almost round, 0.5–9(–11) x 0.5–4.7 cm, subacute to acuminate at the apex, cuneate to rounded or cordate at the base, glabrous or pubescent, particularly beneath; petiole 3–5 mm long; stipules c. 2 mm long including tip. Flowers in dense clusters, not scented. Calyx c. 1 mm long, mostly pubescent with spreading hairs, with distinct triangular teeth. Corolla white; tube 3–4.5 mm long, usually densely pubescent with spreading hairs outside; lobes ovate, 1.5–2 mm long. Fruit globose, 7–10 mm in diam., red or orange-red, glabrous or almost so.
