Information
Rhizome creeping with very dense chestnut linear-lanceolate scales 3–6 mm long, sometimes with a dark central stripe. Fronds 2–50, tufted, 10–40 cm long; stipe purplish black 2–15.5 cm long, densely hairy and covered with scales similar to those of rhizome, dense at base; lamina narrowly oblong to lanceolate or ± triangular, 7–22 cm long, 3.5–6.5 cm wide, bipinnate or pinnate with deeply pinnatifid pinnae; 4–12 pairs of pinnae, the lower ones with stalk about 1 cm long, upper sometimes entire; the lower pinnae can be bipinnate hence lamina partly 3-pinnate; ultimate pinnules oblong, oblong-ovate or oblong hastate, 10–17(–20) mm long, 6(–12) mm wide, with crimped edges; veins free, obscure or ± visible. Sori and indusium continuous.Laminanarrowly oblong to lanceolate; sulca of stipe and rhachis rounded.
