OXALIS Mundtii Sond. [family OXALIDACEAE]
Information
bulb ovate, with brown scales; stem short, scaly, leafless or somewhat leafy above, many-leaved at the summit; the petioles, under sides of leaflets, peduncles, and calyces, pubescent with very short hairs; leaflets as long as their petiole, linear, complicate, obtuse, or minutely emarginate, glabrous above, without calli; peduncle bibracteolate, longer than the leaf; sepals ovate or sub-lanceolate, 4–6 times shorter than the corolla; tube of corolla yellowish, limb violet-purple. Bulb nearly 1/2 inch. Stems 2–3 inches, with 2–3 very short branchlets below the crown. Petioles 4–6 lines long. Peduncles 1–1 1/2 inches long. Cor. 8–9 lines long, with a wide limb. Known from O. linearis by the bulb, and hairy stem and leaves, and short petioles; from O. Burkei by the pubescence and want of calli.
